    Hi there,

I’m getting a new hobby. I would like to build a robot arm just for fun. It can be ridiculously simple and after much googling about ROS and robot arm Niryo was the highest google search result match.

I would like to build almost from scratch, so I’m okay to have an arm that is less powerful and accurate than the Niryo One. I prefer to spend more time tinkering with the programming than with the hardware portions.

I have ordered a raspberry pi 4. So I was wondering what’s the cheapest hardware I can find or 3D print? I have never 3D print before and the Niryo1 full kit is out of my budget.

    I welcome any recommendations

Do you have access to any 3d printer?

You might want to consider starting Poppy Jr… https://www.poppy-project.org/en/robots/poppy-ergo-jr uses some of the same Dynamixel motors that already have the controller boards integrated…

    Dear @kimsia ,

This is the best choice for starting your hobby. Niryo One robot arm is an amazing 6-axis robot arm

I have printed everything on a public 3D.

My unit is working very well, take a look.
