Gripper 1 motor (XL-320) is not responding to commands, and Niryo One Studio shows an error code of 1 at the hardware status page. The LED on the motor is also off, and the motor gives a weird smell indicative of a bad thing. ):

Error 1 on Dxl XL-320 motors is usually happening because of 2 reasons: either the motor is not correctly assembled (for example a 90° offset from the zero position), or the motor is not correctly configured.

To help you more on that, could you contact our customer support here and give all the details you can ?

The motor was working fine at first. However, it was unable to properly grip and carry an item, so we went to the .yaml file and changed the gripper’s holding torque. Could this have caused the issue by burning out the motor?

Yes this is probably the cause. We have set a lower holding torque so the motor doesn’t become too hot (and burn). If you modify this value, the temperature may become too high.
