Is is possible to mount the base of Niryo One to a vertical surface? Will it affect functionality in some way?

Unfortunately it’s not possible to do that.

The only way to use Niryo One is to mount the base on a flat horizontal surface.

The motors are not designed for any other orientation and will not be able to handle the additional payload.
