So, for the past couple days, I have been troubleshooting why I couldn’t connect to the robot.
It turns out the SD Card image provided will not function as is on a Raspberry Pi 3 B+. I removed the Raspberry 3 B+ and installed a Raspberry 3 B.
After that my network could see the Robot but I still could not connect. This was a result of me blocking all inbound connections via my firewall. It needs to be able to connect at least one time without the firewall and then it will function with the firewall. Another option is to create a firewall rule for the IP and Port.
I am now able to connect to the robot. I am having one calibration issue that I am working through. It appears to be an assembly issue that I believe is an easy fix. I hope to have the calibration complete any moment now.

Yes, all the 3D printing was done with PLA. I think the reason for the appearance is I used different cameras for the images as well as the flash was in some cases not needed.
During the assembly and printing phases, I didn’t have any real challenges. I guess if I had to name something it would be the lack of accurate instructions with hardware counts and identifying which size screw/bolt went where. Personally, this was not much of an issue for me, but I can certainly see it being an issue.
I was finally able to get some time to work through getting it powered up and the calibration run.roboticshobbyistParticipantApril 4, 2019 at 3:39 amPost count: 8roboticshobbyistParticipantApril 4, 2019 at 3:33 amPost count: 8
I ran into this same problem a couple of weeks back now (March 17, 2019). Customs held it by 2-3 extra days.
I wanted to share this for those who may experience this issue at customs. A quick message to Niryo Support and it was taken care of.roboticshobbyistParticipantApril 4, 2019 at 3:24 amPost count: 8
Hi. I just found this thread. I just finished building my robot and I emailed Niryo today as I am unable to find an 11.1-volt power supply for some reason. I see several chargers but not actual power supplies.
I have 2 questions here:
1st: Does anyone have a source for the 11.1-volt power supply (can you share links)?
2nd: What amperage should the Power Supply be capable or providing? I looked around but I am not seeing this info, sorry if I missed it.roboticshobbyistParticipantApril 4, 2019 at 3:04 amPost count: 8
Great presentation. Thanks for sharing.roboticshobbyistParticipantApril 4, 2019 at 3:01 amPost count: 8
@duck Thanks for sharing all these details in this thread.
I have been following your YouTube channel for a bit now. I had some questions in the comments of one of your videos, you had promptly replied to me and was a great help. Your Niryo robot videos are what prompted me to buy and build one myself.
Wish I seen this thread before I went ahead and created one on my forums. I was unaware until today that these forums existed. I am looking forward to seeing more of your videos and posts.
