Enhancing Robotics Skills: Hands-On Training for students

Explore how practical robotics training is preparing future technicians with the essential skills for success in industries such as IT, aviation, and healthcare, through the use of versatile and cost-effective robotic technology.
We visited the Aims Community College in Colorado in the United States. Since 1967, the college has established its presence in Northern Colorado with locations in Greeley, Fort Lupton, Windsor, and Loveland. In the 2022-23 school year, Aims served just under 10K students.

Aims Community College empowers learners to achieve their academic and career goals by offering more than 200 degree and certificate programs in areas such as ITES, O&G, aviation technology, health care, automotive, construction, and welding.

Combining Theory and Practice: Aims’ Robotics Program Equips Students with Essential Skills in Industrial Automation

For him, Aims’ robotics program is designed to provide both classroom and labwork to ensure students have not only a fundamental understanding of robotics technology but also hands-on experience programing, installing, and servicing industrial robots.

Expanding Opportunities: Niryo’s Robotic Arms Enhance Hands-On Learning for Future Technicians

As mentioned above, Niryo’s educational robotic arms are used for a variety of purposes. David Sordi and his students are excited for the coming semester where we can begin to use these robots, and give students an expanded opportunity to get hands-on experience with robots.

In researching the Niryo robots, he found that they satisfied a number of requirements including flexibility in programming, various accessories that expanded the functionality of the robots, affordability, and ease of set-up.
